Problem
Max discovered that if he subtracted 7 from his age and multiplied it by 7, he got the same answer as subtracting 9 from his age and multiplying it by 9. How old is Max? -- joseph mccann <jomac@globalnet.co.uk>

7(x-7) = 9(x-9)
7x - 49 = 9x - 81
2x = 32
x = 16
=> Max is just old enough to get his driver's license and become a road
hazard here in the states. :^)
