How do you cut a round pizza into 8 pieces with 3 straight cuts?

Since the slices have to be straight, you can't cut it into four equal
slices then do one long cut in the shape of a circle around the pizza's
center.

And if you just make three random slices, the most you'll get is 7.

So I vote:

Slice it in half (gives you two pieces).
Put one half on the other half.
Slice this thing in half (gives you four pieces).
Put one pile on the other pile.
Slice that in half (gives you eight pieces).
