Problem
If I wear my nightcap, I do not wear the slippers. If I don't wear the cap, I sure wear my pyjamas. If I wear the cap without wearing the slippers, I wear my glasses. If I do not wear my pyjamas, I wear at least my nightcap. But if it's not true that I neither wear my cap nor my slippers, then I wear the glasses. Today I do not have my glasses with me. Do I wear my pyjamas?
Show solution
C = you wear your nightcap. S = you wear your slippers. P = you wear your pyjamas. G = you wear your glasses. Given: 1. C -> ~S 2. ~C -> P 3. C & ~S -> G 4. ~P -> C 5. C | S -> G 6. ~G From 5 and 6, ~C and ~S. From 2 and ~C, P. Therefore, you wear your pyjamas, but neither your nightcap nor your slippers. -- Jonathan S. Haas <positron@Starbase.NeoSoft.COM>
