Show solution
Mr. Nobody I know a funny little man As quiet as a mouse, Who does the mischief that is done In everybody's house! There is no one who sees his face And yet we all agree, That every plate we break was cracked By Mr. Nobody. It's he who always tears our books, Who leaves the door ajar. He always leaves the lights turned on, It's really quite bizarre. The finger marks upon this wall Aren't made by you or me, But when scrubbed off, may reappear, From Mr. Nobody. And Mom was sure she'd bought enough Of milk to last that day, But going to the fridge that night, The milk had gone astray. A pack of biscuits disappeared, As you can plainly see. Who gets the blame for things astray? It's Mr. Nobody! The paint we never spill; We would not play with oil. His are the feet that bring in mud And all the carpets soil. The papers always are mislaid, Who had them last but he? There's no one tosses them about But Mr. Nobody. [ Editor: the collected file gives no author or source. ]
