Problem

Can anyone tell me what this formula represents?

R=50+2000(C/A) + 8000(T/A) + 100 (Y/8) - 1000 (I/A)

I found out that it is an equation that relates to football.

r= rate
c=catch             a=average
t= touchdown        a=average
y=yards             a=average

I am guessing that it is a quarterback rating system for U.S. football's
NFL.  Quarterback ratings seem to be much discussed among NFL fans
recently.
